 Powers:

Animus has immense physical strength, augmented by sunlight itself. It is unknown how strong the beast could potentially become if allowed to bathe in the natural sunlight of its native homeworld planet. Animus is capable of projecting both a purple and green mouth beam, as well as a green and red eyebeam. Whether or not these rays vary in strength or intensity based on color is unknown.

Origin:

Locked away by the Nebulans for his cannibalistic nature, Animus was made a prisoner within the caverns of the Gigan Homeworld. He was closed off and depraved of his only known source of power, the planet's sunlight. What the Nebulans had planned to do with Animus is unknown, presumably they intended to use him as a weapon of some kind. However, his incredible power and taste for the other members of his own species most likely resulted in his imprisonment in his homeworld. If he were to somehow free himself and absorb enough natural light, it is presumed the entire planet's population would be at serious risk.

 

Notes from the Creator

I think Animus is an interesting character, but for me, he's just kind of there. We needed a story for Theromin and Gogar, and he's what I came up with. I would liked to have explored some of his other abilities, like his getting larger when exposed the sunlight or his cannibalistic tendencies, but we offed him, so that's the end of it. so, while not a character I'd do backflips over, Animus is certainly NOT someone I'd want to meet up with in a dark alley...
