When Trajan first managed to elude the Nebulans and went rogue, the Nebulans immediately began looking at the possibility of having to kill Trajan should he ever decide to attack the Nebulan homeworld. Cretaceon, who was originally designed in the first wave of Planet Busters, was selected for the task. While he was originally meant for defensive measures, the appearance of an egg fathered by Trajan and laid by Plotina presented the Nebulans with a possibility they would never again have. To acquire the egg would mean gaining the most powerful offspring in the Gigan Species' documented existence, far more important than capturing Gaiganny. Because they knew Trajan would fight to the death over his offspring, they decided to send the one kaiju in their holdings specifically designed to not only withstand his arsenal, but given a series of new weaponry specifically designed to destroy Trajan.
