Fortress is became obsessed with the symbiotes, since the one he picked up allowed him to gain so many new talents and abilities. He decides, why stop at one, when two would be better? Not caring what kind of sybiote it is, he slowly starts taking as many as he can find, finally gaining the ability to draw symbiotes from wherever they are and into his own being. He soon gains the same ability to take the viruses into himself, adamant that the viruses could be just as useful. he was wrong. When the symbiotes become infected with the viruses, the two attack each other, then merge and spread their resulting amalgam throughout Fortress' body. He transforms into the horrible Dragan as a result. Unfortunately, the merge is only temporarily successful, soon Dragan begins to feel his inner systems failing, as the symbiotes and viruses kill one another, reducing him to an inert, lifeless husk.
