Retro was originally sent with Shackle by the Nebulans to apprehend and retrieve Eelus. His mission came to an abrupt end when eelus managed to take over Shackle's mind and force him to attack Retro. While attempting to defend himself he too fell under Eelus' control. After some time however, Eelus relinquished control and Retro opted to remain with him, now seeing the advantages to acquiring power for the group.

Retro is capable of scanning his foes and flashing them with "Retro-replay. This replays the last few minutes the target has just experienced but alters their vision to make them think they are ina horrible nightmare. Since the effect is caused by the scan, it is almost impossible to block.
