Terra is essentially a walking battery. She is able to absorb energy and either keep the power for her own use, or she can channel it into the gigan of her choice. Her alteration of the energies she's absorbed allow her to enhance a gigan's natural abilities, giving them a power boost.
Her loyalty is to the Nebulans, but more importantly she is loyal to Theromin, striken by the gigan's gruff and angry personality. To Terra, this is a sign of power, and it amazed her to see Theromin try to fight Gogar even when he was no match for him. She had seen Theromin before and wished he would court her, but knew with his personality, he'd be more apt to attack and kill her than try to display for her. Things changed after he was enhanced by the Nebulans ad Terra likes their current arrangement. Theromin and Terra are a mated pair, though neither of them has openly said it.
