Trajan vs.Thresher |
Powers:
Thresher possesses an intense perfection
of every attribute within the Gigan species. Thresher has been
naturally endowed with an augmented version of the Forehead, Mouth,
and Eye beam, each increased to their full intensity for maximum
effectiveness. Thresher possesses two shoulder buzz saws in addition
to his abdominal saw. Each shoulder saw can be thrown from its
holding and controlled by Thresher. Two sickle shaped blades rest
on his forearms, these can be shot from their holdings and controlled
as well. Attached to each of Thresher's shoulder pads is a single
crystal which can be launched at any target. The crystals themselves
possesses small spines which allow them to attach themselves to
a moving target. Thresher possesses a set of concealed wings characteristic
of the Nebulan Planet Busters and is an expert in aerial combat.
Physically, Thresher has yet to be matched in strength, power,
or endurance, and his intelligence has surpassed any Gigan type
thus cataloged by the Nebulans.
Thresher also has the unusual ability
to adapt himself to the water. He is capable of underwater combat
and is equipped with two large crystals on his back which can
also be detached and controlled. When released, the crystals act
as depth charges. The crystal upon thresher's forehead can be
used to illuminate his way, or draw attention if he so desires.
To ease the land to water conversion, Thresher also possesses
a second set of wings, which can be deployed at will after Thresher
is submerged.

Notes from the
Creator |
*MAN* do I like Thresher!!!
For awhile I was started to get, I dunno, a bit disenchanted with
Trajan, and then figured out why: no one could beat him. True,
there were creatures created that could certainly give him a good
run for his money, but none of them were capable of getting a
decisive win over Trajan without any outside help. Thresher, simply
put, can. I've always been a firm believer that when you have
a main character, or someone who's the focus of a story it's important
to establish him/her as a power to be reckoned with, but there
comes a time when you need to put that character up against someone
who is, quite frankly, stronger than they are. Not just physically,
but mentally, emotionally, etc. Something that balances the two
out and but takes it a step further and gives the antagonist the
edge... That is what I believe I've done with Thresher. He's stronger
than Trajan, and the worst, possibly the scariest part about him
is that he *knows* it. He's not overly arrogant about it, he's
not cocky to the point where he's careless, he knows what he can
do, and he does it. At this point in time, both he and Trajan
are vying for the spot of my favorite gigan in this series...
