Subject: Congratulations!!
HEy there, ha ha. I saw the updates!!! This is great, we are
ready to
roll except for the little write ups. It looks good. Oh i looked
at
Phycoh ward, I didn't read it again, though so I didn't see if
you
added
theromin's section where he's talking to /Gogar after killing
toros. I
like the way the characters page looks too. Hey if you want I
can go
into
the html and make them come up as seperate windows. I've had to
learn
a
few lines of html because word doesn't let you do them. That's
how I
did
the fixed background on my opening page. Heh, I'm really excited
about
this. I noticed when you click on the pic of Gogar electrocuting
toros
the one it sends you to he's blue. hehe, i remember you telling
me
about
that. Anyway I loved that pic, great job especially with the
reflection
and I love the way you drew Gogar in that. (gai
keeps her beak shut
about
one minor thingy). This is great. Oh I just read that the
end and saw
you did add that part. Cool. Yes I think it helped. Holy Cow now
I
need to get moving on My Joy. Oh do you think we should put up
our
emails? Probably so I'd like to hear people's reaction to this.
I
wonder
if I should put up my regular one or my gaiganny one.
Well, I really like the new treece. Yes very stream line, I
can
finally
picture him chasing me. Hehe. I don't know why I suck at
visualization,
I get an idea in my head and its so hard to heh heh heh BUDGE
it. I
love
that word its too close to budgie. But yes. Heh I see he too has
lots
of
metal, that should make things interesting too.

Talk to you later,
Trajan
P.S Hmm, actually, I wasn't going to
say anything
about this, but it's been eating at me since I read
your email: (gai
> keeps her beak shut about
> one minor thingy).
Ok, I have to admit that kind of got under my skin.
Whatever you noticed couldn't have been that minor or
you wouldn't have made a comment about it, so please,
tell me what you noticed about the picture. After
having our conversation about the design of the gigans
I thought you wouldn't be afraid to tell me what's on
your mind. I don't know if it's my imagination but
I've been noticing this more and more. You seem to be
holding back on a few things as of late. Why? The
absolute LAST thing I want is for you to think you
can't tell me any critiques you have of my work. Am I
that much of a horrible monger when you notice things
or point out a mistake? Again, I'm sorry if I ever
came of as sounding annoyed or angry with you over a
criticism, I really don't mean to, it isn't my
intention at all. I mean, I'll defend my work if I
feel it came out the way it should, but I really don't
mean to come off the wrong way when I do. Maybe what
I say IS kind of harsh and I just don't realize it...
But even so, even if it's a minor thing, tell me. If
I can't handle a minor critique of my work for Alt
Homeworld or my other sites then maybe I shouldn't be
working on them... Again, I'm sorry if even this comes
off the wrong way, but this is what's been on my mind.
After you told me we shouldn't let anything well up
inside and just talk it out that's what I've been
trying to do, heck, that's why I insisted we chat
about the Gigan desgns. With anyone else I'd have
just thought to myself 'Screw you if you don't like
the designs, they're mine.' and not have said
anything. But you said we should talk things out and
I'm glad we did. But now I keep getting the feeling
that you're suddenly not speaking your mind on things
that are bothering you. So tell me what's up.

Subject: hey there
Well let me just say there's no need to appologize. I'm the
one that
needs to be doing that. Yes you are absolutely right, when things
come
up
we do need to talk them over. I was happy that you asked me to
chat
about
the gigan designs after our phone conversation and I DO know you
don't
do
that for anyone else and I greatly appreciate it. I don't think
you
are a
horrible ogre, why would I think that. I just thought that perhaps
I
was
getting to picky and I didn't want to come off that way, sorry
that it
came off as me holding things, back I'm not. Have I been holding
back
other things? Please tell me, I hadn't noticed if I have. As for
the
drawing, its the usual, tails missing again. That's all. While
I'm at
it
I might as well tell you I've also noticed you are drawing gogar
different, mainly in the one of him and ther on the rock. His
head
seems
to thin, and his eye too big. Also his middle, what would you
call it,
section, the black one has been getting longer. That's all. Gosh
I
hate
doing that since my own art is not all there itself. I don't like
to
nit
pick stuff like that about your work. Again I'm sorry if I've
been
holding back, no I do know I can talk to you and say stuff. I'll
try
to
keep that in mind. Heck, you are one of the few people I trust.
And I
know its the same for you so, I know how precious that is. Again,
sorry
about all this and making you feel uneasy.

Hi Des,
Oftentimes good criticism IS nitpicking,
so if you
ever think what you have to say is inconsequential,
chances are it's something that should be put out
there and not dismissed. I think I've told you this
before, but criticism is all I heard in both High
school AND college. Trust me, I can take it no mater
how small or minor you think what you obsevred is.
There has to have been a reason you noticed it, and if
I feel it's something that needs to be corrected, I'll
do my best to either correct it right there and then
or keep it in mind for future drawings. The reason I
asked if I was a horrible ogre was because, well, I
figured I must have done something to that effect if
you didn't want to tell me something.
Okay, you don't care much for the way I've ben
drawing Gogar... I'm not too sure how to fix that
since different things vary when I draw, hardly
anything looks exactly like it did in the last
drawing. Though in certain pics of him I will
intentially exaggerate some things just as
experimentation. It happens with all my drawings, not
just Gogar. You saw it with Trajan, you can see it in
Theromin (the four spikes on his head are ALWAYS
changing size) and it will probably happen to the
other characters the more I draw them. I guess it
happens because there's a good chance I haven't seen
the character I'm drawing for awhile and just go by
what I recall, then adjust them accordingly when I
pull out a reference drawing. I know you're a
stickler for detail, being into science and all, but
I'm afraid I don't have too much control over the way
Gogar is appearing. Besides, I don't think it really
takes away from the character. Ah, the pic I did of
Gogar and Theromin on the rock probably looks awkward
because I had to revise Gogar's head position almost
three times before I stopped trying. That's probably
the reason it looks odd. As for the black sections,
well, looking at the past drawings of Gogar, the
sections are porportionally correct in just about
everything except for the pic with Toros where they're
too short. I think if anything I've been beefing
Gogar up a bit, compared to the original prototype pic
anyway. I've also been accentuating the horns (yes I
still see them as horns ;) and making them larger.
That's mostly because they're a highly noticable
feature and helped define the character. I tend to do
that so I don't forget what the character looks like.
Let's see, and the tails. Okay, Des, you have to
understand that tails aren't always going to be
visible depending on what angle you're looking at the
characters on. With the Toros pic, there's no way
you'd see Toros' tail, look at the angle I have him
on. We're looking at him from almost a bird's eye
view, slightly tilted. Toros' tail is there, but you
wouldn't see it because his leg is hiding it. Gogar's
tail is simply curled up behind him in kind of an 'S'
pattern. It's up behind his wings and thus you
wouldn't see it from the angle I'm set him on. To
tell you the truth I prefer to have the tails
positioned that way unless I think they're essential
to the picture. Most of the time I end up wasting
space with them, so I just position the characters in
such a way that I don't have to worry about deciding
what position and what curve to put them on.
Okay, onto other things...
